About the Captain of the "First Catch"
Born and raised in New Jersey, I developed a passion for fishing as a young child. I remember fishing with my father on my uncle's 13ft. whaler. I was 6 or 7 years old and we were fishing in Barnegat Bay for winter flounder. Boy was it cold... but oh so much fun! I always wanted to be a NJ Saltwater Fishing Captain. Now with over 40 years of local fishing experience I do everything possible to create a great fishing trip.
No Experience Necessary. My professional approach is that I am always willing to teach a guest how to improve their angling skills. Whether educating children or beginners I am always patient and courteous. However, when guiding hard-core anglers, I understand that catching fish is job one and will do everything possible to locate the feeding fish. Believe me, I want to catch fish too! In addition to great fun, most of the fish we catch are also great eating. Of course, I suggest you only keep what you can eat.
I am a holder of a Masters Degree and worked as a manager in the Financial Markets for almost twenty years. I learned early on that Customer Service is THE key to a successful business. I am a USCG licensed operator, A certified captain by the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), and a member of the Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA)., and a member of the National Association of Charter Boat Operators (NACO). I am trained and certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid by the American Red Cross.
